'Variegata' is distinguished by producing variegated green and yellow stems and solid green leaves. Color intensifies with more light.

Triangular shaped stems with upright, branching growth habit. Teardrop-shaped leaves appear with new growth and eventually drops either with winter or with age if winter is not cool enough. Thorny.
